与其说在改编螺丝在拧紧，不如说深受奥利维拉和他的编剧奥古斯蒂娜的影响，整部影片在古典与现代之间的某个区域游荡，极其精致的画面构图和人内心隐秘压抑不可控的欲望之间形成巨大张力，带来断裂和困惑，但也带来更多连接。

情节设定很迷，就这么个一句话能讲完的故事，乱七八糟穿插了各种不清不楚的故事线，且并不引人入胜。台词略显做作。从女主在镇上偶遇男青年的戏开始我就一整个大问号。
Encounters單元的意外之喜？整體的神秘感非常的Henry James(就像導演映後所說的:"the reason why Henry James is so cinematographic is that he doesn't define things, he only shows the possibilities of evil")。改編後的紀錄片導演這個人物又帶來了一層關於電影拍攝的方法與倫理的思考，一種以片中男性角色所代表的獵捕現實的方法("life is cinema")，另一種，就像影片裡對鏡子的超現實使用，是在對鏡子和現實的凝視中抵達鏡子的另一面("cinema is life")
